Nevermind June Update on Steam!
almost 11 years ago – Fri, Jul 03, 2015 at 07:56:36 AM

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to send a quick note to let you know that the June update to Nevermind is now live on Steam!

There are so many improvements, upgrades, and new bits n’ bobs to the game (including improved graphics, brand new VO, etc.) that it would be a bit much to list them all. However, a summary of all the highlights in the new update can be found here:

http://steamcommunity.com/games/Nevermind/announcements/detail/794106024519539494

Please let the team and I know what you think of this new version! Your insights and recommendations helped shape this update and we look forward to continuing to improve the game with your help.

As always, you can always email us directly at [email protected] or discuss your ideas, what you love about the game, and what you’d like to see changed or improved in the Steam Community Forums: http://steamcommunity.com/app/342260/discussions/

The team and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the latest improvements!

Best,
Erin & the Nevermind Team

(As a reminder, the new level will be available in the upcoming July update).

Happy Summer!
almost 11 years ago – Mon, Jun 22, 2015 at 06:56:17 AM

Hello everyone!

How did it get to be June already?! Hopefully you’ve all been having a wonderful summer so far!

As per usual, the team and I have been incredibly busy these past few months working on the next level (Client #418) and improving the game overall. Believe me, a lot of great changes have gone in - you’ll barely recognize the game when we update it next (and that’s a good thing!). So, with that… first thing’s first!

Upcoming Steam Early Access Updates!

We have two big updates we’re planning to launch on Steam Early Access in the coming months. We know it has been a while since our last update and all of you have been incredibly patient. We cannot wait to share with you what we’ve been working on, but we also want to be respectful of your time. As such, we don’t want to release anything that has any major known bugs or issues. So thanks for bearing with us as we’ve been polishing everything up. Believe us when we say we’re champing at the bit to hear what you think of the latest and greatest. So! Without any further ado, here’s what you can expect in the coming weeks.

Major Update - Estimated Release: Week of 6/22

We’ve been listening to your feedback and have taken all of it to heart. This update incorporates many of your suggestions (including new features like controller support) and overall tweaks, tunes, and changes.

While this update focuses on the content that’s already a part of the game on Early Access (i.e. The Neurostalgia Institute, the TrainSim Client, and Client #251), more content has been added (such as final voice over for the TrainSim Client), alongside significant visual polish and embellishment.

Speaking of polish, we’ve also upgraded to Unity 5! So the game is now looking and working better than ever!

You also may have noticed a few new possible achievements pop up on Steam for Nevermind. You’ll get to learn what these are all about with this update. :)

New Level - Estimated Release: Week of July 13

We’re currently targeting making Client #418 available mid-July. Perhaps we’ll release it sooner - but the 13th sounded like a nice, auspicious date to target for now.

As of right now, this is our last planned level in light of our current budget and resources. We’re really hoping to be able to build more (we have more great ideas than we know what to do with!) - but much will depend on how Early Access does. So please keep spreading the word (and leave a kind review if you feel the game deserves one)! You guys have been amazing and your support has been an essential part in getting us this far and we really want to share even more with you. :)

Steam Sale

Most of you already have Nevermind (thanks again!), but for those of you who don’t (or those of you who know someone who has been on the fence about getting it), we’ll soon be joining the Steam Summer Sale festivities! As a bit of an E3 celebration, Nevermind will be 40% off on Steam for the remainder of the week! Every sale goes towards adding more new content to the game - the more sales we get the better it is for everyone!

BackerKit

95% of our backers have completed their BakerKit survey! Not bad - but there are still 5% of you who are missing out.  So If you backed us and are wondering where your Steam Key is (or where you can sign up for the Xbox One version of Nevermind), email us at [email protected] and we’ll hook you up.

Kickstarter Rewards: Next Phase

Rest assured, we haven’t forgotten about the rewards such as t-shirts, Hall of Fears, custom art, etc. We’ve been talking about them a lot lately and have been getting very excited about making all those happen. You’ll be hearing more about them soon. Stay tuned!

New Trailer

In case you missed our last “Screenshot Thursday” announcement, we have a brand new trailer up on our Steam page. Check it out if you haven’t already!

Wild Divine

Wild Divine recently launched a Gold Bundle deal which includes a IomPE sensor (compatible with Nevermind), five premium titles (so you can use your sensor with more programs than just Nevermind), and a host of additional goodies. Definitely worth checking out - especially if you’re interested in using biofeedback beyond Nevermind to explore things like meditation, mindfulness, and plain ol’ chilling out.

In Conclusion

Thank you so much for your continued support! We’re so excited about sharing what we’ve been working on with all of you very soon!

In the meantime, as always, if you have any questions, email us any time at [email protected]

Talk to you all soon! :D

Nevermind Spring Update
about 11 years ago – Sun, May 03, 2015 at 02:47:42 PM

Hello everyone!

It's hard to imagine, but it’s been almost a month since we launched on Steam Early access and we have been so humbled by the response that Nevermind has gotten. Many thanks to all of you who have shared Let’s Play videos, written about it on blogs and social media, and have left a positive review!

WE NEED MORE REVIEWS!

If you haven’t already, we would be thrilled if you would leave us a review on Steam if you’ve played and genuinely enjoyed the experience! We’ve already accumulated a host of amazing Positive reviews, but bit by bit we’re getting closer to being listed as Very Positive! Every review counts!

NEVERMIND ON THE ROAD

Just last week, I was honored to present the history of Nevermind at the Games for Change festival. G4C is one of my favorite events of the year and, if you’ve never been, I encourage you to check out some of the archived videos from a variety of amazing presenters!

We were also part of an Intel RealSense press event, which was a ton of fun! Check out this round-up to see some great coverage of Nevermind in addition to a rundown of a bunch of other super cool RealSense titles that are either already available or currently in development!

Next week, we’ll be up in San Francisco for the NeuroGaming Conference and Expo to present some of the research that has been done on Nevermind at ESCoNS as well as participate in an exciting panel moderated by Adam Sessler. I hope to see some of you there!

Not only is it incredibly exciting and validating to have Nevermind be included as a part of so many great events, but it’s also so encouraging that conferences like these exist to help celebrate cutting edge ideas in games and entertainment.

WILD DIVINE SALE - ONLY 3 DAYS LEFT FOR $20 OFF!

I know many of you have already taken advantage of this special offer from the fine folks at Wild Divine, but if you haven’t, you only have 3 days left to take advantage of a $20 discount on the IomPE sensor! It supports Mac and PC, and is currently one of the cheapest/easiest stand-alone sensors that will enable you to experience Nevermind's biofeedback content.

NEW KICKSTARTER SHOUT-OUT: a•part•ment

Some good friends of ours have recently launched a new Kickstarter for their game a•part•ment - a beautiful game about relationships featuring a host of interesting mechanics and visual styles. They’re off to a great start and have a very achievable Kickstarter goal.

If you’re interested in non-standard interactive narrative experiences, give it a look!

The School of Games: The School of Games is another worthwhile project that is being crowdfunded by a friend and is definitely worth checking out if you’re as excited about the possibilities of education through games as I am: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-school-of-games

SCREENSHOT THURSDAY

In case you missed it, here’s a screenshot we posted from our newest upcoming level:

We don’t want to spoil too much and we can’t wait to share the full level with you soon! In the meantime, watch for a new screenshot or Nevermind-related-image every Thursday on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

PRESS ROUND-UP

For the each of the past few Saturdays we’ve been posting on Twitter a roundup of the coverage Nevermind has gotten from the previous week. Check it out - there are some fantastic Let’s Plays and articles that have come out since the Early Access launch!

BACKERKIT UPDATES

If you haven’t filled out your BackerKit profile yet (there’s still 91 of you!), make sure you’re using the email address you use for Kickstarter. As always, if you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to email us at [email protected].

REWARDS UPDATES

With the Early Access version of the game now available, it will probably be another several months before the next round of rewards will be available to ship. This is because we’ll be working on them in parallel to the game (and making the best game possible takes priority!). That said, updates on the digital and physical rewards will be going out in the not too distant future - so keep an eye out for those in the coming months!

That should do it for yet another update. Perhaps our next update will include a bigger sneak peek at our newest level - but we'll have to see ;)! Thank you so much for your continued support and stay tuned for more great news coming soon!

First week on Steam Early Access & Wild Divine IomPE Sensor Discount!
about 11 years ago – Sat, Apr 18, 2015 at 11:32:58 PM

Hey everyone!

Thank you so much for making this a fantastic first week for Nevermind on Steam Early Access! It has been a very exciting and encouraging few days and this is only the beginning!

Also, we wanted to share some great news from the sensor front! The awesome folks at Wild Divine will be offering all Nevermind players $20 off of the IomPE throughout the rest of April! The IomPE works with both Mac and PC and is incredibly easy (and comfortable) to use.

More here: http://www.wilddivine.com/nevermind

Keep playing, sharing your reviews, videos, screenshots, artwork, and more! The team and I are hard at work addressing the feedback that has already come in and preparing for the next build update!

Best,
Erin & the Nevermind Team

Early Access Build is LIVE!
about 11 years ago – Fri, Apr 03, 2015 at 08:16:04 PM

The day has finally come! Nevermind is officially available via Steam Early Access!

Thanks to all of our backers who provided feedback on the builds leading up to this point - here’s to a successful Early Access launch!

We Need Reviews!

If you get a moment, we would love for you to write a review for Nevermind on Steam! Reviews (especially at this early stage) are essential to helping improve our store placement and give players context for the type of experience Nevermind offers (especially given how unique it is). You all have already done so much, but this one extra step would help a ton.

Tell Your Friends!

As noted in our last update, Early Access is a big deal for us and for the project. Any and all funding that comes in from Early Access will go directly back into the project so we can make more unique, surreal levels for you all to experience!

Any and every thing you can do to help spread the word will go a long way! Use this link (http://store.steampowered.com/app/342260) if you end up sharing with friends via social media!

Beyond excited for this big next step forward! Let’s make today a day to remember!
